Slide approval and timed reward QRs are implemented in development. Production rollout must include both apps. If your screen differs, check feature availability before using this walkthrough.

Choose the right QR

A membership QR cannot authorise a reward claim. Scanning either code only checks the details; it does not award a stamp or redeem anything.

Follow the counter flow

Add a stamp

1

Choose the outlet

Open Scan in the correct merchant workspace and select the active outlet serving the customer.
2

Check the membership

Ask the customer to show their membership QR. Choose Start camera and allow access, or enter the supported code and choose Check membership. Keep the whole QR inside the camera corners.
3

Review before approving

Check the returned member, reward and outlet. Confirm the purchase qualifies. Checking a balance alone is not a reason to add a stamp.
4

Slide to add stamp

Use the approval bar near the bottom of the screen. Drag the handle from left to right through all four checkpoints and release at the end.
5

Wait for Stamp added

The control locks while the request is processing. Check the confirmed result before selecting Scan next member.

Redeem a reward

1

Ask for a reward QR

The customer opens their earned reward and uses Slide to prepare reward QR. Preparing the QR does not spend stamps. See the customer walkthrough.
2

Scan and review

Scan the temporary reward QR at the selected outlet. Confirm the customer, reward and outlet eligibility. The code must still be valid.
3

Slide to redeem reward

Move the approval handle all the way across. Do not add a stamp just to access redemption, and do not use a membership QR as approval.
4

Wait for Reward redeemed

Hand over the reward only after Kardy confirms it. The customer’s reward screen updates with a receipt, and the wallet refreshes its progress. The stamp cost is deducted once; extra stamps carry forward.

How the approval slider works

  • Drag from left to right through four checkpoints, then release at the end.
  • Release early to return to the start without submitting.
  • Checkpoint sounds are movement feedback, not proof of success.
  • While processing, wait: do not repeat the operation or change scanner inputs.
  • For keyboard access, focus the handle, press Right arrow four times, then Enter. Confirm without sliding is available if dragging is difficult.
  • Sound effects are optional. Use the sound control on Scan or the merchant sound setting. Muting does not change approval or the visible result.
  • Reduced-motion preferences are respected; the same confirmation is still required.

QR timer and reward expiry

A reward QR lasts up to 10 minutes, or until the reward’s own deadline if earlier. The customer sees the countdown. Expired codes cannot be approved. Ask for a new code only if the underlying reward is still valid. A replacement invalidates the previous QR and does not extend the reward deadline. An already-redeemed result is not a second claim. Do not hand over another reward. Read reward expiry settings for the separate one-week and one-month policies.

When something goes wrong

  • Camera unavailable: check permissions, lighting and screen brightness. Use supported manual entry if offered.
  • Code not recognised: ask for a current Kardy code. Join-page QR codes, ordinary website links and malformed codes are not scan approvals.
  • Wrong member or outlet: stop and check the correct code and outlet again.
  • QR expired or replaced: ask the customer to prepare a fresh reward QR. If the reward itself expired, involve the Manager.
  • Request interrupted: keep the current result open and check current activity before trying again. A network error does not prove failure. If the same approval can be retried, retry it rather than starting a new claim.
  • Reward unavailable at this outlet: ask the Manager to check permitted active outlets. Do not bypass the restriction.
  • Access or subscription error: ask the Owner to check access and activation.
  • Unexpected recorded operation: retain the outlet and time for Support. Do not delete audit history or promise an undo.
Never share customer QR screenshots, passwords or verification codes.
