# Set up your organisation

> Follow Kardy’s five setup steps: name your brand, preview the card, choose rewards, enter business details, and add your first outlet.

## Before you start

Have your brand name, business contact details, outlet addresses, brand colour, and a
simple reward in mind. Use your own account rather than a shared shop login.

Open [Set up your business](https://merchants.getkardy.com/signup). New to Kardy?
Create your personal login first. Already use Kardy as a customer? **Sign in** with
the same email and password; you do not need another account.

After sign-in, people without a workspace can complete the five steps below.
People who already own or belong to a workspace open that workspace instead.
If you were invited to an existing team, accept that invitation rather than
creating a second organisation.

Signing up on the consumer site never creates a business. Even on the merchant
portal, the business is created only when you submit the completed setup form.
Read [accounts and access](/accounts/overview) for the difference between a login,
a customer membership and a workspace.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Name your brand">
    Enter the name customers recognise and your membership link. Use lowercase
    letters, numbers, and hyphens in the link. Customers use it to join.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview your card">
    Choose your shared primary brand colour. After setup, edit it in **Branding
    → Brand profile**. Secondary colour, gradients, patterns and chop shapes are
    card-only styling. Try them in the iPhone preview. Use **Preview stamps** to
    compare empty and stamped cards; this does not issue stamps.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose your rewards">
    Name the first reward and set its target, starting at 10 stamps. Add up to
    10 rewards and optionally set membership expiry or referral bonuses. Read
    [reward behaviour](/features/rewards) to understand stamp costs and balances
    carried between claims.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add business details">
    Enter your legal business name, email, country, category, and description.
    Phone, website, and tagline are optional. The public-shop preview is
    illustrative; it does not publish a shop page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your first outlet">
    Enter a name, street address, city, postal code, and country for your first
    shop. Unit number and phone are optional. Choose **Create organization**
    when ready. Setup is free; review [billing](/merchants/billing) before going
    live. Add further stores later in Locations once their
    [allowance](/features/usage-limits) is arranged.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  Gradients, patterns, chop shapes, secondary colour and stamp numbers are saved
  with the organisation in dev. Reward-specific icon choices remain
  preview-only. The setup QR previews the join link, not a member’s private QR.
</Note>

Organisation details, outlets, rewards, card design and optional referral settings
are saved together. Invalid setup rolls back the whole creation instead of leaving
a partially created brand. A lost connection can still hide a successful result;
check your organisation menu before retrying.

## After setup

* **Branding:** preview Apple Wallet and Kardy mobile app card designs, then
  customise the join page and a matching print or screen QR sign.
* **Overview:** filter visits and claims by store and date. Graphs have their own
  complete-day date range and two-click range highlighting.
* **Members:** review rewards ready and the top three power customers among
  loaded members. Open a member's history to reach their Activities filter.
* **Activities / Live view:** search recorded events or follow the latest ten
  beside the store globe. Pins are store locations, never customer positions.
* **Settings → Usage & limits:** check stored capacity and the shared monthly
  MCP allowance before connecting agents. These are not unlimited.

Use **Collapse sidebar** on desktop for an icon-only rail. Expand it again with
the sidebar button; the preference is remembered. Live operations and reporting
still require the appropriate role, subscription and deployment readiness.

<Warning>
  You can create and switch between multiple organisations in dev. Each has its
  own team, members and subscription; see [multiple
  brands](/features/multiple-brands).
